Every Brahmin after his upanatanam is supposed to do Sandhya Vandanam at dawn and dusk and also Madhyannikam (prayer at non) without fail .The manthrams and Kriyas associated with it used to be taught to the children after Upanayanam by thr family priest. With changes in life style and very little attention to learning Sanskrit and mother toungue, young people want it in English. This has been attempted. A summary meaning is given. It essentially is a series of yogic praxctises followed by meditation and chanting of Vedas .Brahmins believe that properly done it keeps them in good health and free from worries.

With people moving away from their native place as well as the tendancy of questioning the relevance of everything, there was a need for typing out manthras in English and also give their summary meaning. This is attempted here.
