Random Thoughts Part 1 - Lord Ganesha, Cloning, & Computer !

It is our tradition and custom to start with Vigneshwara Puja and so I will start with my thoughts on Him.

Our Mythology tells us that 'Elavratha Varsha' is the Loka where Sri Parvathi lives and there are only ladies living with her. Even the great Lord Siva, the consort of Sri Parvathi, lives there as ArdhaNareeswara. Male species is not permitted into that territory. One day Maha Sakthi decided that she needs someone to guard the place and prevent even inadvertent entry of males or any one without specific permission. Goddess ParaSakthi creates from her own body (clone as we understand today) an all- powerful Robot "Maha Kaya". The Divine Mother decided that there would not be anything more powerful than her creation in the whole universe or 14 lokas. Instruction was also given to the Maha Kaya to stop anyone trying to enter the Elavratha Varsha.

Lord Siva for some reason had gone out and was returning and was promptly stopped by "Maha Kaya". There was no way that Lord Shiva would be permitted entry. The Lord had no other way than to remove the instruction chip (head) of Maha Kaya. That would have been end of Maha Kaya. But this displeased Maha Sakthi. Then Lord Siva and Sakthi together decided that intelligence or power of discrimination and logic or Viveka has to be there when ever power is there. Hence Intelligence was incorporated in Maha Kaya. Thus Lord of all Knowledge and Wisdom, "Lord Ganesha" was born. Maha Kaya had to have Maha Intelligence also. He was the root of all intelligence or in modern parlance Stem cell of brain. In yogic terms also Maha Ganapathy is root of Gnana or Lord of Mooladhara Chakra.

Lord Ganesha became the Parent of all wisdom and intelligence. Every creation had to have his blessings in the form of Intelligence and wisdom. Without his blessings existence was not possible. That is why we say that every activity be preceded with prayers to Lord Ganesha. Without power of thinking and reasoning, our attempts are bound to fail.

Mouse of Ganesha & Mouse of Bill Gates ?

Hey, but why do we call him Mooshika Vahana? How can such huge body or "Maha Kaya" ride on a small creature 'Mouse'? This must have been a mystery for the previous generation, but not for the present generation. If the Supreme intelligence 'Lord Vinayaka" uses a mouse to navigate through his memory and instruction chips, then why not our small creation. We know that we use a mouse to Navigate through our computer intelligence. I would say that it was no coincidence that this device used by us today was named as mouse by accident. It is past memory through many births. The west also has it in their genes. They may not pray to Lord Ganesha but cannot undo their origin.

There are also two parts of the brain. The Lord has Sidhi and Budhi. The knowledge acquired from experience or Sidhi and second one the power of imagination or intuition, which is Budhi. These have to co-exist. This need not be considered as two wives.

Have you ever wondered as to why Maharshi Vyasa requested Lord Ganesha to assist him to write when he was composing the 18 Puranas. We know today what a Word Processor is? Don't we? Can we not imagine that Vyasa maharshi would definitely have benefited by a word processor in Sanskrit? We also know that Rishi Vyasa made a condition that Lord Vinayaka should not write unless he understands the meaning of what is told. This is automatic spelling Grammar and check of meaning, that too writing from dictation. Speech recognition! We are still to reach that level.

A big computer also needs a big fan to keep it cool. Large Ears. Can the Eka Dantham be a Joystick?

Nobody can surpass our forefathers, "the Rishis", in presenting complicated concepts in a lucid and simple fashion through examples and models, which can be understood by common people.

Lord Ganesha is the Embodiment of Wisdom, Knowledge and Intelligence. He gives a small speck of this power to every individual creation. Without his blessings, no achievement is possible. He controls all intelligence and knowledge. Through that He controls all creations or Ganas and hence he is called Gananam Pathaye "GanaPathy"
